Bazetta PD hosts 13th annual Safety Day on Saturday

The Bazetta Township Police Department, in conjunction with Mosquito Lake Marina, will host the 13th annual Safety Day from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday at Mosquito Lake State Park, 1439 Wilson-Sharpsville Road.

The event will include vehicles and representatives from local police and fire departments, state and federal agencies and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

There also will be booths from various safety organizations along with public-safety features.

Special highlights include the Mahoning Valley Crisis Response Team tactical vehicle “The Bear,” Trumbull County Haz-Mat Team, Trumbull County Sheriff’s Dive Team, TAG Drug Enforcement, Air Force Security Forces, Heather Merritt’s Birds In Flight Sanctuary, Ohio Department of Wildlife and Watercraft and Taser demonstrations.

The Metro Life Flight helicopter will land at noon. There will be special appearances by the Youngstown Phantom’s Hockey Slap Shot mascot, Chuck E. Cheese, and Creekside Garden’s Mudzilla Monster Truck.

There will be drawings for free children’s bikes, Mahoning Valley Scrappers tickets and other prizes.
