Hollywood reports May increase in slot machine revenue

Penn National’s Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course reported video lottery terminal, or slot machine, revenue of $8.43 million in May.
That’s compared with the racino’s VLT revenue of $7.79 million reported in May 2015.
But in May 2015, the racino had an average number of 866 slot machines per day compared with 936 last month, according to figures released Wednesday by the Ohio Lottery Commission.
“While we don’t comment on short-term, month-to-month revenues, we continue to be pleased with the long-term trends we’re seeing at our Ohio facilities,” said Eric Schippers, senior vice president/public affairs, Penn National Gaming Inc., in a statement. “Our management teams continue to execute on our ongoing strategy to provide a best-in-class gaming, entertainment and customer service experience for our guests.”
The OLC report also shows $87 million in credits played at Hollywood Gaming. Gamers won $77.6 million in credits – a 90.30 percent payout – which equated to a win per day per VLT of $291.
Promotional play credits were $958,442.
The state’s seven racinos reported revenue of $78.2 million, compared with $73.6 million reported in May 2015.
The state’s four casinos reported revenue of $66.5 million in May, compared with $71 million reported in May 2015, according to figures released by the Ohio Casino Control Commission.
