Jason Kokrak was one of 13 players to qualify for the U.S. Open on Monday, shooting a two-round score of 136 at Wedgewood Golf in Powell.

The U.S. Open runs from June 16-19 at the Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pa.

Kokrak, a Warren JFK graduate, finished at 6-under par 136. He shot a first-round score of 71, before posting a 65 in the second round.

The performance earned Kokrak an eighth-place finish in the field of 103 golfers. Carlos Ortiz placed first with a 10-under 132.

Play was delayed for nearly two hours by afternoon storms.

Kokrak birdied three holes in round one (Nos. 6, 7, and 18). In the second round, he birdied five holes (Nos. 1, 7, 9, 10 and 11). He eagled the third hole.

Kokrak last made an appearance in the U.S. Open at Oakmont in 2007 after playing in the sectional and regional qualifying rounds.

Earlier this year, Kokrak matched a career-best PGA Tour finish, tying for second place in the Northern Trust Open in February. He finished one shot behind Bubba Watson.

Recently, Kokrak missed the cut for the Wells Fargo Championship in Charlotte on May 7. He then withdrew — without explanation — from the Players Championship after 14 holes at TPC Sawgrass on May 14.

This past weekend, he missed the cut at The Memorial at Dublin;s Muirfield Village.

Other qualifiers from Monday in Powell were: Bryson DeChambaeu, Than Tracy, Brendan Steele, Spencer Levin, Wesley Short, Kevin Streelman, Scottie Scheffler, Luke Donald, Jason Allred, Richard Schembechler II and Patrick Rodgers. Daniel Summerhays is the first alternate.
