Homeless veteran robbed in downtown Warren
WARREN — A homeless military veteran was robbed Tuesday evening while he sat near the Veterans Memorial on Courthouse Square.
According to a police report, the man, 50, of Warren, told police he was in the grassy area behind the memorial drinking a beer when a female started talking to him, then a male walked up and started choking him, and they rolled down the hill toward the river.
While this was happening, the female went through the victim’s pockets, taking his wallet and cash. They also took his bicycle.
Police were able to see the area where the robbery took place and found a $10 bill nearby, but they did not locate the suspects.
