Youngstown schools CEO will earn $170,000 in his third year

YOUNGSTOWN

As the first city schools CEO, Krish Mohip will earn $160,000 the first year, $165,000 the second year and $170,000 the third year. He also can earn up to $10,000 bonus for district improvement.

Mohip was introduced today at an academic distress commission meeting, and says he is counting on community collaboration.

"I'm proud to say I will be a citizen of the city of Youngstown," he said.

"I want to meet with every single person who wants to work with us," he continued. "I don't it's a good policy to shut people out of the conversation."

Mohip said he wants to continue a collaborative approach and work with the elected board of education.

But he stressed that leadership of schools "can't do everything ourselves. We need the help of community."
