An East Judson Avenue woman was arrested early Sunday evening for punching, biting and stabbing a man.
Bridgette Crawford, 50, was taken into custody on a charge of felonious assault, which was later amended to misdemeanor assault.
Police were called to Crawford’s home about 7 p.m., where a man who appeared to be drunk told them he was hit on the head by a machete by Crawford, who he said also bit him several times and punched him.
According to police reports, the victim was so drunk he could not stand up while talking to police.
Reports said Crawford told police Jones assaulted her and pulled a knife and choked her because they were arguing over a man. Crawford said she grabbed his knife and stabbed him, then ran inside and grabbed a machete, but because she was so drunk she hit him with the wrong end of the machete.
Reports said the victim had forgotten he was stabbed until told by police. He also had old and fresh bite marks on his arm, reports said.
Crawford was arraigned Monday and has a pretrial hearing date set for June 23 in municipal court.
Reports did not say if the victim sought medical treatment, but they did note police have been called to the South Side home several times in the past for heavy drinking involving Crawford and the victim.
