AUCTIONS

The Music Plays On Quarter Auction will take place at 7 p.m. June 23 at DeYor Performing Arts Center, 260 W. Federal St., Youngstown. Doors open at 6:15. Tickets are $10 and include a bidding paddle. There will be a cash bar and snacks available for purchase. Prizes of gift certificates and theater memorabilia will be given. For information or tickets call 330-744-0264. Tickets also are available at the DeYor Performing Arts center box office, through Symphony Society members or at the door. Proceeds will benefit the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra Community Outreach Program.

FESTIVALS

Poland Presbyterian Church, 2 Poland Manor, will sponsor a Strawberry Festival from 5 to 8:30 p.m. June 24 on the church front lawn, rain or shine, as part of Celebrate Poland festivities. Strawberry shortcake, ice cream, homemade cakes, hot dogs and Italian sausage sandwiches with chips and pickles and beverages will be sold. There will be free face painting provided by the church’s preschool, live jazz, a 50-50 drawing and basket raffle. Proceeds will benefit the church’s youth programs and various events and activities sponsored by the parish life committee.

RAFFLES

West Side Cats, 2217 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown, will host a Father’s Day raffle and drawing June 18. It will feature a 48-inch Insignia LED TV. Proceeds will be used for the spay/neuter program at West Side Cats. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5 and are available through any volunteer or at the shelter. For information call 330-792-4228.

SALES

Helping Hands Closet at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, has new and gently used clothes for the entire family. All children’s items, men’s and women’s sportswear, swimsuits, shorts, tees, tanks, polo shirts and sandals will be 60 percent off. Hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4490 Norquest Blvd., Austintown, will sponsor a gift card raffle and rummage sale during its 33rd annual festival Wednesday through Sunday. The rummage sale will take place in the school building and the gift card raffle will be on the grounds. Both are from 6 to 10 p.m. daily. Drawings will take place Sunday before the main raffle. Winners do not need to be present.

Lake Milton Presbyterian Church, 942 Grandview Road, is having a flea market and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Space is available for free for anyone who would like to set up, but no food or baked items are permitted. Call Charlotte at 330-654-3396 for questions.

Poland Lions Club is sponsoring a Treasures of the Trunk Sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Poland High School Stadium parking lot, 3199 Dobbins Road. Salem Public Library is preparing for its used book sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 18 at St. Paul School gymnasium, 925 E. State St. There will be books for adults and children, DVDs, VHS, CDs and more. The sale is sponsored by the Salem Public Library Memorial Fund Association. That Quilt Group I Belong To will host a quilters garage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at 3735 Barber Drive, Canfield. Available will be a slightly used serger sewing machine, Carnival glass punch bowl with 12 cups, fabric and crafting supplies. Proceeds will help TQGIBT promote quilting in the valley. Members stitch charity quilts and other projects that are donated to hospitalized children and veterans. TQGIBT meets at Fair Park in Canfield on the third Tuesday of most months and is open to all quilters in the Mahoning Valley. TRIPS

Our Lady of Fatima, St. Ann Church, 601 Roemer Blvd., Farrell, Pa., will host bus trips as fundraisers for repairs of its church organ. A trip to Seneca Allegany Casino in Salamanca, N.Y., is set for June 14 and 15. Lodging in the casino’s hotel is $155 per person for double occupancy with $70 in bonus rebates. A bus trip to Soaring Eagle Casino Resort in Mount Pleasant, Mich., will take place Sept. 13 to 15. Hotel rooms will be $304 per person for double occupancy with a $100 bonus.
