Suspended school aide free on bond

YOUNGSTOWN — A suspended educational aide in an alternative-education program here is free on $2,500 bond after she was arraigned on three counts of sexual battery involving a male student in the program, who was 17 and 18 when the purported offenses occurred between Nov. 1, 2015, and March 8 this year.

Christina M. Resek, 30, of Hopkins Road, Boardman, pleaded innocent to the third-degree felony charges at her arraignment today in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.

Resek worked in the PACE alterative-school program overseen by the county educational service center and housed in the Mahoning County High School building on the city’s East Side.

The purported sexual activity occurred in Resek’s car in various Boardman parking lots, according to the county sheriff’s office, which investigated the case.

Resek was suspended immediately without pay when the allegations surfaced, according to Amy Radinovic, community engagement supervisor at the county ESC.
