Elementary schoolchildren clap for Canfield High grads
CANFIELD — Canfield graduates took time from their first day of the new segment of their lives to return to where their education began – C.H. Campbell Elementary and Hilltop Elementary schools.
Students in kindergarten through fourth grade lined the halls this morning to clap and cheer for the graduates’ job well done.
Jeannie Bloomster, C.H. Campbell Elementary School kindergarten teacher, said students were very excited to see the graduates who had once been in their classrooms.
“They were just wide-eyed,” she said.
Travis Lavery, C.H. Campbell Elementary School principal, said the opportunity wasn’t just for the elementary-school students to see their futures.
“It was a great opportunity for them [graduates] to walk through their old hallways and see some of their teachers who worked so hard to get them where they are today,” he said.
“It’s a really amazing thing, and I’m looking forward to doing it again next year.”
