City woman accused of punching, biting and stabbing man

YOUNGSTOWN — An East Judson Avenue woman was arrested early Sunday evening after she was accused of punching, biting and stabbing a man.

Bridgette Crawford, 50, of East Judson Avenue, is expected to be arraigned in municipal court today on a charge of felonious assault.

Police were called to Crawford's home about 7 p.m., where a man who appeared to be drunk told them he was hit on the head by a machete by Crawford, who he said also bit him several times and punched him.

Reports said the victim was so drunk he could not stand up while talking to police.

Reports said Crawford told police Jones assaulted her and pulled a knife and choked her because they were arguing over a man. Crawford said she grabbed his knife and stabbed him, then ran inside and grabbed a machete, but because she was so drunk she hit him with the wrong end of the machete.

Reports said the victim had forgotten he was stabbed until told by police. He also had old and fresh bite marks on his arm, reports said.

Crawford is in the Mahoning County jail.
