Volunteers sought for iCAN Shine camp

Down Syndrome Association of the Valley is seeking volunteers for its iCAN Shine Bike Camp.

Volunteers will teach individuals with a disability to gain the skills and the confidence to ride a two-wheeled bicycle. If you and/or a friend would like to volunteer, complete the volunteer registration form available at www.dsav.org. High school or college volunteers seeking secure volunteer hours are welcome.

The camp runs from June 13 through 17 at Boardman-Glenwood Middle School, 7635 Glenwood Ave. There will be five session times listed on the volunteer registration form. Return forms to DSAV, 945 Boardman-Canfield Road, Boardman, OH 44512. No experience is needed.

Contact Debbie Williams at office@dsav.org with questions or for registration forms. Commitment to the same session time each day are more successful because the learners are familiar with their helpers. Volunteer for as many sessions as you can.

A volunteer training session will take place at 6:30 p.m. June 12 at Boardman-Glenwood Middle School.
