The Literary Society of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County will host a fundraising event, “Ladies in Little Black Dresses for Literacy,” at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Lake Club, 1140 Paulin Road. Those who attend are asked to wear a little black dress and take a copy of a book by their favorite author to swap with others. Guests also can donate new or gently used children’s books.
There will be an informal fashion show and accessories will be for sale by E.J. Hannah, Suzanne’s and Ivory and Birch.
Tickets are available for $35 per person which includes appetizers, and there will be a cash bar.
The event will benefit PLYMC’s Literary Society fund, and a portion of the proceeds from participating boutiques also will be donated to the fund.
