Leetonia’s Bigfoot Fest is June 17-18

The village of Leetonia and Friends of the Leetonia Coke Ovens are hosting the third annual Bigfoot Festival from 3 to 10 p.m. June 17 and noon to 10 p.m. June 18 at 300 E. Main St.
The festival will include food, games, “chuck-a-luck,” nickel toss, crafts, face painting and bounce houses for children.
Entertainment on June 17 will include Zarah Strong from 4 to 6 p.m. and DJ Dan from 6 to 10 p.m.; Sugar Creek Duo from 2 to 4 p.m.; and country line dancing with Richard and Terri Spack from 4 to 7 p.m..
The Beat Brothers Band performs from 7:30 to 9:30 June 18.
A “One Bigfoot of a Hill” 5K race also is set for June 17. Registration is available at runsignup.com, or email leetoniacokeovens@gmail.com for forms. Free Bigfoot race T-shirts will be given to the first 100 registrants. Registration begins at 6 p.m. at the Coke Ovens, and the race and walk begin at 7.
Special activities June 18 will include a historic presentations from noon to 7 p.m. at the Coke Ovens site; a Bigfoot howling contest at 1 p.m. downtown with prizes awarded for first, second and third place; and a Coke Ovens ghost walk hosted by Ghost 12 Paranormal Group from 7 to 9 p.m.
A raffle to benefit the Coke Ovens will have tickets for $1 each or 6 for $5.
Proceeds benefit the preservation and restoration of the historic Leetonia Coke Ovens.
