Oh WOW! hosts summer sessions

YOUNGSTOWN

Oh WOW! The Roger and Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science and Technology will have three Manufacturing Institute sessions this summer.

Register by June 13 for session one, Engineering Our Earth: 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. June 20 to June 24.

Register by July 4 for the second session, Hacker Week: 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 11 to July 15.

Register by July 18 for the third session, Avionics: 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 25 to July 29.

The sessions are a weeklong experience for students in fourth through sixth grades. The cost is $150 per week. Scholarships are available.

Seminar planned

HERMITAGE, PA.

The eMarketing Learning Center, 3580 Innovation Way, will have “What’s Working in Ecommerce Today” seminar from 1 to 3 p.m. June 22.

The seminar will help attendees gain insights into what is driving the growth of e-commerce sales and learn about new opportunities and approaches to selling products and services online.

The center also will have a “LinkedIn for Business Marketing” seminar from 10 a.m. to noon June 22. Attendees will learn how to use LinkedIn to target, track, interact, connect, brand, generate leads and sell.

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will have a Human Resources Hot Topics seminar on Family Medical Leave Act updates from 7:30 to 9 a.m. June 23 at the Residence Inn, 5555 Youngstown-Warren Road.

The seminar will cover issues related to compliance with the FMLA and related regulations, including handling intermittent and consecutive leave, the certification and recertification process, minimizing workplace disruptions, preventing abuse, and understanding how the FMLA and ADA relate to each other. The Manufacturing Advocacy and Growth Network, MAGNET, will have a “Road to the White House with Women in Manufacturing Ohio” legislative briefing at 9 a.m. June 15.
