vBurgers and Beards festival, 12:30 p.m. to midnight: At the core of this well-named festival ($5) are purveyors of fine burgers and a facial-hair contest, and there’s also a car show and live music. It’s in downtown Youngstown, Phelps at Federal streets.
v RiverFest, noon to 5 p.m.: This free, family-oriented event celebrates the Mahoning River. Visitors can learn about the value of the river, take a scenic walk along a nature trail, ride in a canoe or kayak. It’s at the B&O Station festival grounds, 530 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown.
v Summer art market, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.: While you’re at RiverFest, stop inside the B&O building to check out Artists of the Rust Belt’s summer art market.
v Panhandle Party, 2 p.m. to midnight: A brand-new music festival ($10) at Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack and Resort, W.Va., Route 2, near Chester, featuring the Todd Jones Band, Johnny Riley, US Kids and 7% Superstar. Food – including smoked brisket and ribs – and beverages will be available.
v African-American Achievers Festival, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.: African-American culture and heritage, gospel music, carnival rides, games, arts & crafts, entertainment and food (free admission) on Courthouse Square in downtown Warren.
“Ms. Matched” (9 p.m., Hallmark): “Ms. Matched” is a silly-sweet TV film about a woman (Alexa PenaVega) who plans extravagant fairy tale weddings for her clients, but has no romance in her own life. Something tells us that’s about to change.
“Great performances – joan baez 75th anniversary celebration” (7:30 P.M., PBS): Paul Simon, Jackson Browne, David Crosby, Emmylou Harris and more are guests.

Thorogood coming to Mountaineer
CHESTER, W.VA.
George Thorogood and the Destroyers will come to The Harv auditorium at Mountaineer Casino and Resort on Sept. 24 for an 8 p.m. concert. Tickets start at $20 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at etix.com.
With a career that spans four decades, Thorogood is best known for the songs “Bad to the Bone,” “I Drink Alone,” “Move It On Over,” “One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer” and “Who Do You Love.”
