South Range falls 8-3

The South Range softball team lost to Wheelerburg, 8-3, in Saturday's Division III state championship game.

South Range's Felicia Gaeta cracked a three-run homer in the fifth inning to slice Wheelersburg's lead to 5-3 in the fifth inning.

The Pirates responded with three in the sixth inning.

Wheelersburg scored three runs in the third inning for a 5-0 lead in the Division III softball championship game at Firestone Stadium.

Pirates scored twice in second on three bloop hits.
