CANFIELD

May 15

Menacing: A verbal threat was made from an unidentified male at a home in the 200 block of North Broad Street.

May 16

Assault: Police arrested a juvenile male from Warren for a reported assault at a home in the 200 block of Moreland Drive.

May 19

Theft by deception: A reported case of theft by deception was received from a home in the 300 block of Fairground Boulevard.

May 22

Obstructing official business: An officer witnessed vandalism of a street sign and a vehicle fleeing the scene. Police arrested Ryan Murphy,18, of state Route 62, Canfield, on May 24 on a charge of failure to comply with an order of signal from a police officer, obstructing official business and criminal damaging, and Erick Ritz, 18, of Silver Fox Drive, Boardman, on May 25 for obstructing official business and criminal damaging.

Fraud: A report of fraudulent credit-card charges was made from a person at a home in the 40 block of Russo Avenue.

Drug paraphernalia: Police arrested Daniel Pape, 38, of Alliance on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

May 28

Drug abuse: Police arrested Zachary Baird, 24, of Akron-Canfield Road on a charge of improper handling of a firearm and two counts of drug abuse.

May 23

Theft: A catalytic converter was stolen from an auto parked in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Theft: A catalytic converter was stolen from an auto parked in the 4000 block of Woodhurst Boulevard.

Theft: Medications were stolen from an auto parked at Greenwood Chevrolet, 4695 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A firearm was stolen from an auto parked at a home in the 1000 block of Countryside Drive.

Theft: A catalytic converter was stolen from an auto parked at Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.

Aggravated menacing: An incident was reported at a home in the 100 block of North Navarre Avenue. A suspect in a gray Dodge Charger with a possible firearm was reported.

Theft: A catalytic converter was stolen from an auto parked at a home in the 60 block of North Raccoon Road.

Aggravated menacing: Phone threats were made at an apartment in the 900 block of Compass West.

Theft: A catalytic converter was stolen from an auto parked at a home in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

May 24

Criminal mischief: Plants were damaged at a home in the 3000 block of Frostwood Avenue.

Theft: A catalytic converter was stolen from an auto parked at a home in the 4000 block of Woodhurst Drive.

Unauthorized use: Police charged Tyler Smith, 31, of Butler, Pa., with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and driving it across state lines, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of drug instruments.

Falsification: Police charged Vicki Weimer, 46, of Glenwood Avenue, Lake Milton, with falsification in a report of Tyler Smith’s unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Theft: A catalytic converter was stolen from an auto parked at a home in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Drug offense: Police arrested Mark Sweet, 28, of Julian Street, Warren, on a warrant for probation violation and for possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana. Police arrested Carmen Burke, 20, of South Raccoon Road on a warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia.

May 25

Assault: An assault was reported at a home in the 300 block of Forest Hill Drive.

Theft: An undetermined amount of money was stolen from staff at Austintown Fitch High School, 4560 Falcon Drive.

Disorderly conduct: Police charged Tracy Lee Taylor, 28, of Nantucket Drive, and Matthew Spohar, 40, of Farrell, Pa., with disorderly conduct at Fitch High School.

Passing bad checks: Youngstown Mirror and Glass, 3991 Henricks Road, reported bad checks were passed at the business.

Theft: A catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle parked at Knights Towers, 107 Westchester Drive.

Breaking and entering: Police arrested Ralph Goad, 52, of Elm Street, Columbiana, on a charge of possession of criminal tools at Sam’s Wedge Inn, 1688 S. Raccoon Road.

Breaking and entering: A garage was entered and items were taken from a home in the 400 block of North Four Mile Run Road.

May 26

Warrant: Police arrested Michael Washko, 31, of Todd Avenue, Warren, on a warrant for theft. Police have accused him of taking two projectors valued at $1,490.50 from ITT Technical Institute on Meridian Road.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle was damaged at Phoenix House, 850 N. Meridian Road.

May 27

Warrant: Police arrested Michael Williams, 28, of Fairfax Street, Youngstown, on charges of felonious assault and domestic violence.

Theft: Medication was stolen from a residence in the 2000 block of Redgate Lane.

Theft: Police arrested Debra Casey, 60, of Mahoning Avenue, Youngstown, on theft charges. Police have accused Casey of taking $111.94 in merchandise from Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave., and $48.77 in merchandise from Family Dollar, 4450 Mahoning.

Domestic violence: Police arrested Joshua Pytlik, 37, of Rhode Island Drive on the charge.

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Nicole Stevens, 35, of Wilson Avenue, Girard, on a charge of possession of marijuana.

May 28

Drug offense: Police arrested Dennis Viera, 24, of Youngstown on a charge of possession of cocaine.

Drug offense: Police arrested Stacy Catlett, 26, of state Route 45, Lisbon, on charges of possession of drug-abuse instruments, drug paraphernalia, drug abuse of heroin and inducing panic.

Felonious assault: A male threw a tire iron at a female and damaged her vehicle at a home in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Theft: A FedEx package was stolen from a home in the 100 block of Westminster Avenue.

Theft: A total of $150 in cash was stolen from the Hampton Inn, 880 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Sierra Williams, 23, of West Boston Avenue, Youngstown, on a charge of possession of marijuana.

Theft: A wallet was stolen from an apartment in the 1000 block of Compass West.

May 29

Arrest: Police arrested Jacob Perry, 19, of Conneaut on charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

Drug offense: Police arrested Jesse Driver, 19, of Fountain Square Drive on a charge of drug abuse of marijuana and on a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic citation.
