CANFIELD

Now Creations will conduct a Music, Message and Meditation service from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday at the Ursuline Center auditorium, 4280 Shields Road.

Music will be presented by Maureen Collins, a message from Vince Lisi and meditation by Bob Cene Jr.

John 17 Fellowship

YOUNGSTOWN

John 17 Fellowship will meet at 11 a.m. Monday at Ohio Valley Teen Challenge building, 100 Broadway. Roy Barnett, executive director of Ohio Valley Teen Challenge, is host pastor.

Lunch will be provided.

The fellowship is for clergy to share, engage, encourage, pray and fellowship.

Drive-in services

ANDOVER

First United Methodist Church of Andover is continuing its sponsorship of drive-in, outdoor services at 9:30 a.m. Sundays through Sept. 4 at Wildwood Acres Campground at the intersection of state Route 7 and Marvin Road, about two miles south of Andover. Signs are posted.

This is a casual interdenominational worship service.

Special music will be provided June 26 and July 31 by Sound Witness and Dan Schall.

Anniversary event

YOUNGSTOWN

St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., will celebrate the 90th anniversary of the dedication of the church building with events next week.

Bishop George V. Murry of the Diocese of Youngstown will participate in evening prayer at 6 p.m. Tuesday on the vigil of the dedication date of the church that took place June 8, 1926. The parish, which was established in 1911 and marked its centennial in 2011.

After prayer, light refreshments and hors d’oeuvres will be available in the church social hall.

Tickets are $1 and are available by calling the rectory at 330-743-1109. Proceeds will go to the parish St. Vincent de Paul Society. A concert at 7:30 p.m. will be presented by SounDoctrine, jazz ensemble.

A morning liturgy will take place at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, the actual date of the dedication. Afterward, there will be a continental breakfast in the hall followed by a 30-minute Power Point presentation by local historian and parishioner, Bill Lawson, on what the neighborhood was like in 1926.

Concert at church

AUSTINTOWN

West Austintown First United Methodist Church, 6749 Mahoning Ave., will present a concert at 6 p.m. Sunday featuring Jaime Jorge, violinist, and Timothy Noble, pianist.

Jorge was born and raised in communist Cuba and began playing the violin when he was 5 years old. Noble was 3 years old when he began playing the piano, inspired by hymns he heard in church. He is a native of Mount Vernon, Ohio.

Agape event

YOUNGSTOWN

Evangelist Jacquie Hays will speak at a gathering planned by Agape Interfaith Restoration Fellowship Centre Ministries from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. next Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, 201 Wick Ave. Cost is $10 to cover the brunch and materials. Contact Pastor Connie Hightower, 330-747-9695.

Women 18 and older are invited to attend. Participants are urged to wear purple.

Gospel Choir event

YOUNGSTOWN

The Gospel Choir of Phillips Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, 1407 Victor Ave., will celebrate its 53rd anniversary at 3 p.m. June 12.

The choir invites male choruses, adult choirs, praise dancers and mimes to participate.

Special celebration

YOUNGSTOWN

Bishop George V. Murry will celebrate a special Mass at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Columba Cathedral, 159 W. Rayen Ave., to mark the wedding anniversaries of 159 couples who are being honored for a total of 7,623 years of married life ranging from 25 to 71 years.

Louis and Dorothy Pizzuto, parishioners of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica – St. Anthony of Padua Parish, are celebrating 71 years; and Michael and Lucille Congemi of St. Angela Merici Parish and John and Marguerite Zappitello of Corpus Christ Parish in Conneaut are each celebrating 70 years of marriage.

Other couples celebrating will be: 49 couples married 51-69 years; 52 couples married 50 years; 34 couples will observe 40 years; and 21 couples will mark 25 years.

The wedding anniversary celebration includes renewal of marriage vows at Mass and a personalized certificate. After Mass, a reception will honor couples and their families in cathedral hall.

Deacons’ ordination

YOUNGSTOWN

Two seminarians will be ordained transitional deacons for the Diocese of Youngstown at 10:30 a.m. today at St. Columba Cathedral, 159 W. Rayen Ave.

Bishop George V. Murry will ordain Zachary Coulter, who will serve at Immaculate Conception Parish in Ravenna, and Scott Kopp, who will serve at St. Patrick Parish in Kent.

After their summer assignments, the deacons will return to Mount St. Mary Seminary in Cincinnati to continue their priestly formation in anticipation of priesthood ordination.
