Portion of Pa. Turnpike closed for three hours tonight

The Pa. Turnpike Commission advises motorists that the turnpike (Interstate 276) will be closed eastbound tonight from Willow Grove Interchange, Exit #343, to Bensalem Interchange, Exit #351, from 8 to 11 p.m. so crews can recover an overturned tractor-trailer.

The tractor-trailer overturned on the eastbound off-ramp at Bensalem Interchange about 3:30 p.m., and crews pushed the vehicle onto the shoulder away from exiting traffic. Turnpike officials decided to wait until after rush hour to remove the truck, which was hauling trash. The driver was transported to a local hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.
