Performance venue opens at Winner

Michael Anthony’s, a new lounge for poetry readings, theater and live jazz and R&B music in the former James E. Winner Jr. Arts & Culture Center, 98 E. State St., downtown, will have its grand opening Saturday.

Youngstown playwright and theater veteran Michael A. Forney is operating the new entertainment venue.

Saturday’s open-mic event will feature the NEO Soul Band and spoken-word poets and vocalists. Admission is $10. Doors open at 8 p.m., and the event runs until midnight. Dress code is strongly enforced.
