Guns, drugs, found in two separate vice raids

Vice-squad officers serving search warrants investigating drug activity Wednesday at two homes found two guns and drugs.

About 4:50 p.m., officers searched a 598 Willis Ave. home and found three bags of suspected crack cocaine, three scales, a bag of suspected marijuana, a bag of suspected marijuana seeds and a 22-caliber rifle and ammunition.

Taken into custody on drug charges was Jorrell Gibbs, 34; Lewis Gibbs, 37; and Shannon Kelley, also 37. They are expected to be arraigned today in municipal court. Kelley also was wanted on three warrants, reports said.

About 6:50 p.m. at a 2716 Griselda Ave. home, police found $619, four bags of suspected crack cocaine, a .45-caliber semiautomatic pistol and 20 rounds of .223-caliber ammunition.

There was also a bag of suspected crack cocaine and a bag of suspected heroin inside a diaper, reports said.

Taken into custody there was Lamar Robinson, 18; Kalyn Sly, 21 and Keith Kennedy, 20. They are also expected to be arraigned today.

The guns seized by police bring the total to 58 for the year so far, according to Vindicator files.
