Mahoning County Grand Jury indicts 35


YOUNGSTOWN — A Mahoning County grand jury Thursday indicted 35 people including Brandon Jackson, 36, Stiles Avenue, on failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, possession of cocaine, aggravated possession of drugs, possession of drugs with forfeiture specifications and resisting arrest.

Reports said officer Michael Sobinovsky spotted a car Jackson was driving fail to stop for a stop sign at McGuffey Road and Berkley Avenue on Apr. 20. When he tried to pull the car over, it instead sped away from Early Road to Liberty Road then Datson Avenue, where he lost control and spun out into the woods.

While at the hospital, nurses found four pills and suspected cocaine. He also had $320 in cash on him, reports said.

The grand jury also indicted Kevin Roman, 18, East Philadelphia Avenue and direct presentments, Jordan Kennedy, 24, East Marion Avenue and James Kennedy, 50, East Marion, on aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary with firearm specifications, being a felon in possession of a firearm and two counts of felonious assault.

Reports said two vice officers tried to pull over a car Roman was driving on Apr. 15 for running a stop sign on Chicago Avenue on the South Side when Roman led them to a parking lot and then drove straight at them at high speed. He was eventually caught at a West Warren Avenue home.

The grand jury also indicted Christopher S. Detoro, 43, Diana Drive, Poland, on possession of heroin and obstructing official business.
