VIENNA
Tickets for Youngstown/Chicago flights via Aerodynamics Inc. can now be purchased.
Customers can purchase tickets via the website, www.flygreatlakes.com, or by calling 800-554-5111.
ADI will offer 10 flights a week on its 49-seat jet from Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport in Vienna to Chicago O’Hare International Airport starting July 1.
ADI and Great Lakes Airlines have entered into a code share and hosting agreement that permits the use of established interline agreements for ticketing and baggage with major legacy carriers in Chicago. The agreement also will allow for travel purchases through online travel sites such as Travelocity, Expedia and Orbitz in the near future.
“Today marks a major milestone in ADI’s evolution,” said Darrell Richardson, ADI’s president and chief executive officer, in a statement released Wednesday.
A one-way trip costs about $103; a round-trip ticket runs about $207.
A delay in the ADI and Great Lakes reservation systems slowed the tickets from appearing on the websites Wednesday morning.
Tickets soon will be available on www.flyadi.com. On Sunday, the tickets will be on all online reservation systems such as Expedia, Orbitz and Travelocity.
The last time the local airport had daily service was 14 years ago.
ADI initially applied to bring the daily service to Youngstown in June 2014. After a thorough vetting of the airline by the U.S. Department of Transportation, ADI received tentative approval for the service in January.
The airline received final approval from the DOT May 20 to operate the service.
