Police seize teen, gun after bullet hits trailer
YOUNGSTOWN — Police took a gun from a 16-year-old Tuesday evening on the South Side just after a trailer in Boardman was hit by a bullet.
Reports said officers were called at about 8:35 p.m. to Rush Boulevard and East Avondale Avenue for a report of a teen firing a gun in the air. When they arrived, the teen matching the description ran away with the gun in his hand until he came to a garage at East Avondale and Gibson avenues.
The teen eventually came out and police found him in possession of a .38-caliber revolver. As they were investigating, Boardman police notified them a bullet hit a trailer over the city line in the township. No one was injured.
The teen was taken to the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center.
