FOOD SALES AND DINNERS


TODAY

Holy Family Parish, 2729 Center Road, Poland, will sell takeout only cavatelli dinners with homemade sauce from 2:30 to 6 p.m., or until sold out. Meal also includes two meatballs, tossed salad, bread and butter, and dessert for $9. A smaller portion of cavatelli and one meatball will cost $5. Pasta fagioli will be sold for $6 a quart and sauce for $5 a quart. Place your order, remain in your car, and your dinner will be delivered to you.

THURSDAY

Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman-Poland Road, will serve homemade dinners to go. Starting at 3:30 until the drive-through runs out, baked stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and green beans will sell for $7. Drive to the front of the church, and someone will hand you a dinner to go. There’s no need to preorder or get out of the car.

Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, will host a drive-through chicken dinner from 4 p.m. until sold out for $8 each. A stuffed chicken breast comes with mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans and a brownie.

FRIDAY

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $11 for adults and $6 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.75. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, 526 W. Rayen Ave., will take orders for freshly made potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $6 per dozen. No containers are necessary. Orders should be placed from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at 330-746-9528 and are to be picked up between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday at the church hall. Hot lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. this is the last sale until September.

VFW Post 9571, 11397 Ellsworth Road, Ellsworth, will host an all-you-can-eat fried fish dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The meal includes french fries, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw and applesauce. Four-piece chicken, chicken fingers or shrimp dinners also are available. Cost is $9. A chicken fingers dinner or fish dinner for seniors is $8.50, and a fish dinner for children under 10 is $5.50. The meals are offered the first and third Fridays of each month.

SATURDAY

Richard Brown Memorial United Methodist Church, 1205 Elm St., Youngstown, will sponsor a Mexican Food Pile-on complete with dessert and beverage from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under.

SUNDAY

VFW Triangle Post 2799, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will serve homestyle breakfasts from 8 a.m. to noon sponsored by the auxiliary. The cost is $6 for adults and $3.50 for children 12 and under. Menu items are eggs, hash browns, sausage or ham, pancakes or freedom toast, toast and coffee or tea.

TAKING ORDERS

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, is taking orders for apple and cherry strudel for $10 each and cheese strudel for $12 each. Call 330-550-6628 to order. Pickup is from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Friday.

UPCOMING

Wayne Missionary Society of First Congregational Church will sponsor a Father’s Day breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. June 11 at Wayne Town Hall, corner of routes 193 and 322, Wayne Township. The menu will include scrambled eggs, sausage, ham, pancakes and more. A gift basket will be awarded. Donations of a nonperishable canned good for the local food bank will be accepted.
