Girard man faces child-rape charge

A Girard man, charged with rape and other sex crimes committed against a child in Mercer County, Pa., was arrested about 5:17 p.m. Saturday by Girard police detectives and members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Fugitive Task Force.

According to 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner, William Casey Jr., 55, was arrested without incident at a home in the 800 block of Ward Avenue after the Pymatuning Township Police Department filed a criminal complaint against him.

According to court records, the alleged crimes were committed in December 2015.

Eight of the charges are first-degree felonies and three counts are misdemeanors.

Casey is in Trumbull County Jail awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania, where he will be arraigned before a magistrate in Mercer County.
