Library plans indoor and outdoor activities

SALEM

Salem Public Library and Salem Parks and Recreation are hosting a Gold Medal Palooza to end the summer from 2 to 5 p.m. Aug 13 at the library, 821 E. State St. Cleveland Indians mascot Slider will be available from 2 to 3 p.m. for photos.

There also will be a treasure hunt, obstacle course, parachute games, green screen photos, face painting, sports activities and more.

A yarn and thread crafting group called Stitches in Time is set for 6:30 to 8 p.m. Aug. 17 in the Quaker Room at the library. Participants should take a project to complete.

Both events are free and open to the public.
