Struthers police seek information in armed robbery at Dunkin’ Donuts

STRUTHERS

Police are searching for a man who witnesses said robbed a Dunkin’ Donuts at gunpoint.

Employees told police an unknown male brandished a silver revolver-style handgun and ordered them to the floor about 2:35 a.m. Thursday before ordering one employee to give him all the bills out of a cash register.

The man took about $200 in cash before running eastbound toward Crescent Drive, according to a police report. Witnesses described the suspect as a black male in his late teens or early 20s. They told police he was wearing a black mask over his nose and eyes, a white cloth covering his mouth, tennis shoes, shorts and a black, red and white shirt. The suspect is described as thin and about 6 feet tall.

The Youngstown Police Department also responded to the scene. A police dog tracked the suspect to the area of Pointview and Irma Streets, but then lost the track, police reported.

Officers are reviewing surveillance footage in connection with the incident.
