Three Youngstown juveniles face breaking and entering and other charges in an incident reported at a Boost Mobile wireless-service store on Market Street.
The teens – Avant Hill, 15, of Lucius Avenue, Daraeius Joy, 16, of East Philadelphia Avenue, and Ja’Shawn Crawford, 16, of Ferndale Avenue – purportedly broke into the store at 4 a.m. Wednesday.
According to reports, police began searching for the teens when Crawford reportedly threw a cement block at the store’s glass window and triggered an alarm. Police said the trio took $850 worth of headsets and cellphones before leaving on foot.
They stored the items at Crawford’s home and returned to steal more items, police said. Officers found them in an area near the store, and they reportedly attempted to split up and run away.
With the help of a Campbell police dog, township police found and arrested the trio and took them to the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center.
The stolen merchandise was recovered by Crawford’s mother after visiting his home, police said. The teens also are charged with obstructing official business and resisting arrest.
