Girard school board OKs contract with Coca-Cola

The Girard school board approved a contract that grants exclusive rights to Coca-Cola Refreshments USA to sell beverages at school facilities.

The agreement stipulates Coca-Cola will pay the district a total of $45,000 over the course of the three-year contract term.

In other business Thursday night, the board approved the two-year re-employment of Diane Kosco as director of special education. Kosco will earn $55,965 the first year of the contract and $57,364 the second year.

The board also authorized a series of supplemental contracts, including $2,767 for Kristen Richter to serve as assistant band director; and $2,430 for Ryan Trimbur and $2,430 for Harrison Finelli to serve as junior high football coaches.

The board also honored retiring teacher Patricia Rex for her 43 years of service to the district.

The board’s next meeting will take place at 6 p.m. Aug. 17 in the library on the second floor of Girard High School, 1244 Shannon Road.
