Children attended the “Finding Dory” event at the Austintown library on June 29.

The room was filled with several ocean-themed activities for the children to participate in. There was a Bobbing for Dory game, an underwater scene and props for pictures, a snack table and more to choose from. The window behind the snack table was covered with see-through blue material with colorful fish taped on it.

Austintown librarians Ashley Potopovich and Lindsay Platt created the event in honor of the “Finding Dory” movie being released.

The nice weather allowed the two patios to be open for the children to go outside and participate in other activities. On one outdoor patio was the underwater scene for photos and the other patio had bubbles and an inflatable ring toss.

Tables inside the library were covered with crafts and different materials for the children to use to create sea creatures. An iPad was hooked up to a projector and a “Finding Dory” application was put on for the children to play with.

The “Finding Dory” party was part of the summer reading program and provided the children with another check mark on their challenge list.
