Dog shows set Aug. 4-7 at Canfield Fairgrounds

Staff report

CANFIELD

The Steel Valley Cluster will host four American Kennel Club All-Breed Dog Shows at the Canfield Fairgrounds Thursday through Aug. 7.

Judging begins at 8 a.m. and best-in-show judging concludes between 5 to 6 p.m. each day. Entrance fee is $5 per vehicle.

The cluster consists of Mahoning-Shenango Kennel Club, Beaver County Kennel Club, Columbiana County Kennel Club and Fort Steuben Kennel Association.

Judging for all AKC breeds and Junior Showmanship for 10- to 18-year-olds will be featured each day, as well as many specialty (one breed) shows and supported entries.

There also will be a NADD Dock Diving competition each day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. While conformation dog shows are limited to pre-entered AKC registered dogs, diving is open to all dogs that can swim. There is a $15 fee.

More than 40 dog-product vendors will be in attendance, offering a wide array of dog equipment, dog art, crafts and more.
