The Canfield Baseball Club had its Summer Fun Fest at the ballpark on June 4. The event was planned as a day for players, families, friends and neighbors to come to the club and enjoy some early summer fun.

Regularly scheduled baseball and softball games were played and, in addition, bounce houses, a DJ, face painting, vendors and a dunk tank were available for attendees to partake.

A basket raffle was also offered with each rec team donating a basket, with others donated by community businesses, which served as a fundraiser for the Club. A 50/50 raffle was also conducted throughout the day.

The club also had a Bat-a-Thon, during which players were able to compete to see who could hit a baseball or softball the farthest, with prizes awarded to the winners.

The Canfield Baseball Club celebrated its 50th anniversary last year with a similar celebration. This year’s Summer Fun Fest was built upon that celebration and the CBC Board intends to make it an annual event for all players, families and friends.
