BHS wins library competition

The students of Boardman High School were recently recognized for their efforts in a winter reading program put on by the Public Library System of Youngstown and Mahoning County in order to promote recreational reading to young adults.

The program ran from October through April and collectively, the participating Boardman students read a total of 946 books.

Boardman also won the contest for the highest number of new public library card registrations that went along with the program and will receive a new set of books for their school library.

The following participants are top readers for the school: Sophia McGee, Emma Arduin, Shawn Korpi, Jack Pendleton, Siena Larrick, Hannah Nawrocki, David Bader, Juan Gonzalez, Savanna Dempsey, Caitlyn Hadley, Judy Garzanich, Luke Hetzel, Alexandra Morar and Katie Zimmerman.
