Guilty plea in stabbing over chicken wings case

YOUNGSTOWN

A Miller Street woman charged with stabbing her boyfriend in April after she kicked him out and he came back for chicken wings he left behind pleaded guilty today to a charge of felonious assault.

Cynthia Bland, 60, entered her plea before Judge Lou D'Apolito in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.

Prosecutors are recommending probation with counseling and substance abuse treatment, but Judge D'Apolito said he is not sure what sentence he will give Bland.

Bland was arrested April 26, after reports said she had been drinking with her boyfriend when she got upset he would not go to a store to buy her more alcohol and she told him to leave.

The man called for a niece to pick him up and reports said when Bland heard a woman's voice she became enraged and kicked him out.

The man came back to get some chicken wings he left behind and that's when he was stabbed, reports said.
