What: Join us on a site visit for the Urban Farms & Gardens Summer Tour Series to ask questions and learn about growing vegetables. You’ll gain new skills through hands-on demonstrations.

Family Tours at the Farm

When: Next Thursday, 10 to 11:30 a.m.

What: Explore the MetroParks Farm. Tour includes tractor-wagon ride, guided visits to the barns and playroom time. Expand your trip with a sack lunch or snack. Bring your bike and take a ride, walk, or hike on the MetroParks Bike Trail.

Where: MetroParks Farm, 7574 Columbiana-Canfield Road, Canfield.

ACOUSTIC JAM

When: Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.

What: Join us at the Nature Center for a music jam. Make new friends, have fun, and learn a new tune or two.

Where: Huston-Brumbaugh Nature Center Visitors Center, 16146 Daniel St. NE, Minerva.

Cost: Free

Details: Bring an instrument or just come to listen. Beginners welcome. No registration required.

NEO URBAN, COMMUNITY FORESTRY CONFERENCE

When: Aug. 12, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

What: ODNR Division of Forestry and the University of Mount Union bring together a group of urban forestry specialists. Each will address tree issues that affect anyone living in an urban setting. Storm mitigation and planning and tree risk assessment are topic examples.

Where: Hoover Price Campus Center, University of Mount Union, 1972 Clark Ave., Alliance.
