Woman beaten inside her South Side home

YOUNGSTOWN — Reports said a man forced his way inside a home on the South Side late Tuesday, beat a woman and took her 9mm handgun.

Police were called about 11:30 p.m. to a home in the 500 block of West Boston Avenue, where reports said the man was enraged because a car he did not recognize was parked in the victim's driveway. The victim and the suspect used to date, reports said.

The man took an air conditioner out of the window to get inside, reports said. He ran out of the house after attacking her and into a waiting car. The victim noticed the gun missing after the attack, reports said.
