The Davis Family YMCA, 45 McClurg Road, recently hosted its sixth annual Senior Citizen Art Show, “Centered: Slightly Off Center.” More than 60 residents from eight area assisted living and specialty care centers participated.

Artists, their families and the public were treated to an afternoon of refreshments, an awards ceremony and music provided by the Classical Strings Quartet. Denise DeBartolo York provided a donation for the presentation of awards for outstanding artworks.

Overall winners were:

Best of Show: Claudette Cook, Ashley Circle

Juror’s Choice: Mary Sharpe, Commons at Greenbriar; Lou Wellington, Victoria House; and Dorothie Wiley, Glenellen

Perseverance and Good Humor: Toni DiBenedetto, Glenellen; and Dolly Olson, Ironwood

Creative Determination: Jennifer Robinson, Ashley Circle

Prizes also were awarded to participants from each facility:

Ashley Circle: Rose Thomae, first place; Bill Hegedusich, second place; Teresa Hickson, third place; and Donna Adams, fourth place

Beeghly Oaks: Alberta Oliviri, first; LaTanya Gurley, second; Jean Thomas, third; and Elizabeth Whitfield, fourth
