Local figure skaters go to Nationals

Six members of the Phantom Figure Skating Club have qualified for the 2016 National Showcase Competition in Strongsville from Aug. 1-7.
The event is sanctioned by The United States Figure Skating Association.
The skaters are Ariana Zebrasky, Corey Carbone, Lauren Feeeze, Nora Carlson, Molly Bohrer and Madelyn Bohrer.
“I am very proud of each member and everything they have accomplished during their years as members of the Phantom Figure Skating Club,” Coach Skip Mackall “We are highly anticipating this year’s National Showcase Championship and we are wishing the members the best of luck during Nationals.”
Zebrasky from Poland is a senior in the Youngstown State University Industrial Engineering program. She previously placed fifth in the National Solo Dance Competition anda USFSA Multiple Test Gold Medalist.
Carbone is originally from from Erie, Pa., but relocated to train at The Ice Zone. He qualified in two events for Nationals this year. He previously qualified for the Junior Nationals and he is a USFSA Test Gold Medalist.
Carlson is a senior at Ursuline High School and began skating at age 2. She previously qualified for the Junior National Dance Competition and is a USFSA Test Gold Medalist.
Freeze recently graduated from Struthers High School and has participated at the ISI World Team Skating Competition.
Molly Bohrer is from Erie, Pa., and is a USFSA Test Gold Medalist and attends Villa Marie Academy where she will be a junior this fall.
Madelyn Bohrer also is from Erie, Pa., and will be an eighth grader.
