Spirit Airlines will bring service to the Akron-Canton Airport

Today, Spirit Airlines announced it will bring service to the Akron-Canton Airport.

On Nov. 10 service to Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Orlando and Tampa will launch.

Next year, Spirit will start service to Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Tickets will go on sale on Spirit's website today.

"This airline will compliment our current lineup of airlines," said Rick McQueen, president and chief executive officer of the Akron airport.

The Akron airport currently has 15 non-stop domestic destinations provided by Allegiant Air, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines and Southwest Airlines.
