Mohip: No plans to fire long-time city schools employee

YOUNGSTOWN — Youngstown City Schools CEO Krish Mohip says he has no plans to remove a long-time employee.

He attributed word of plans to ouster Harry Evans to rumor.

The Rev. Kenneth Simon of New Bethel Baptist Church spoke at today's city school board meeting said he and others learned of plans to remove Evans.

Evans serves as operations chief, business manager and maintenance supervisor — positions once held by three people.

Mohip said he has no such plans.

"You can't fire your way to excellence, " he said.
