Autopsy set for 2-year-old girl who died at Akron Children's Hospital

YOUNGSTOWN — An autopsy will be needed to determine the cause of death for a 2-month girl.

The girl died this afternoon at Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley in Boardman. Police were called about 1 p.m. to her home in the 1400 block of Plazaview Court on the East Side, but when officers arrived the baby was already at the hospital with her mother.

Detectives went to the home, then interviewed the mother at the hospital while crime lab personnel looked for any evidence.
