DNC CONVENTION | Booker slams Trump

PHILADEPHIA — U.S. Sen. Cory Booker, the Democrat from New Jersey, said the United States is called to be a nation of love.

"Love knows that every American has value. Love recognizes that we, as a nation, are better together. We we are indivisible, we are invincible," Booker at the lectern tonight.

He blasted Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump for mocking a special-needs reporter, criticizing a judge of Mexican heritage, and alienating our allies throughout the world.

I support Hillary Clinton because she has been paying it forward her entire life, Booker said.

He talked about her fight for the people in Alabama, Massachusetts and other states long before she was first lady and secretary of state.

In America, Booker said, love always trumps hate. And, with Clinton as president, "we will rise."
