Thrasher-Torba engagement is announced

FARIES THRASHER AND MICHAEL TORBA

Karen Caldwell of Boardman and Tom Torba of Lordstown are announcing the engagement of their son, Michael Torba, to Faries Thrasher, both of Austin, Texas.

The parents of the bride-elect are Jamey and Steve Thrasher of Brownwood, Texas.

The ceremony is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Sept. 2 at Pecan Springs Ranch, Austin, where a reception will follow. Invitations for both events will be forthcoming.

Miss Thrasher graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology from Texas Technical University and a master’s degree in teaching science from the University of Texas in El Paso. She teaches biomedical science at Westwood High School in Austin.

Mr. Torba graduated with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Youngstown State University and a master’s degree in engineering management from Case Western Reserve University. He is a hardware development manager for National Instruments in Austin.
