MYCAP offers employment skills, training programs

The Mahoning-Youngstown Community Action Partnership, 1325 Fifth Ave., is offering free employment skills and training programs Monday through Aug. 4.

The information sessions provide an outline of what is covered in the class, details of the program and what is expected from each participant. Candidates interested in the class, which begins Aug. 8, must attend only one of the informational sessions, which take place from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m.

The six-week class runs Aug. 8-Sept. 15. Potential candidates must be a Mahoning County resident 18 or older, graduated with a high-school diploma or working toward completion of a General Education Development diploma. Veterans are encouraged to apply.

In addition, all participants must be income eligible at or below 125 percent of the federal poverty guidelines.
