Reports said a woman wanted on warrants from municipal court tried to hide from officers Wednesday after they spotted her walking on a South Side street.

Jennifer Coyier, 31, of Burbank Avenue, is in the Mahoning County jail on charges of possession of drug abuse instruments and possession of drug paraphernalia, plus warrants for the same charges after she was spotted by officers John O’Neill Jr. and Mark Sember about 3:35 p.m. walking at Hillman Street and West Marion Avenue.

Coyier tried to hide in some brush but came out when ordered by the officers, reports said. Reports said she told the officers she hid because she knew she had warrants but she had just been to rehabilitation for drug abuse.

She told police she had two crack pipes in her purse, which were found along with several needles and spoons, reports said.

Coyier was arrested with another woman in June on drug charges at a Market Street restaurant. She also had a drug offense in May and was arrested twice within six days in January with crack pipes in her possession, according to Vindicator files.
