Murder suspect's bond set at $1M


YOUNGSTOWN — Bond was set today at $1 million after a man was arraigned in municipal court for a Tuesday night homicide.

De’Ondre Gayles, 20, was arraigned before Magistrate Anthony Sertick on a charge of murder for the death of Ralph Thomas, 20, of Church Hill Road, Girard. Thomas was killed after being shot about 9:50 p.m. at DuPont and Hammaker streets on the North Side.

Assistant City Prosecutor Jeffrey Moliterno told the magistrate that Thomas’ death happened during the sale of marijuana on the street.
