GOP CONVENTION | U.S. Sen. Portman says GOP ’more unified than ever’
CLEVELAND - Unlike most Ohio Republicans at the party's national convention, U.S. Sen. Rob Portman repeatedly mentioned presidential nominee Donald Trump and contends the GOP is "more unified than ever."
Portman told the Ohio delegation today that despite media reports about conflict at the convention, he doesn't see it.
During Wednesday's convention, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, who lost the primary to Trump, was booed by numerous delegates when he didn't endorse Trump and said to "vote your conscience."
He also touted Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as Trump's running mate.
"The Trump-Pence ticket is going to be the right ticket to win in November," Portman said.
