Fundraiser to expand children's treatment

Meritage of Miracles will host its third annual fundraising event to expand palliative pediatric care to the Mahoning Valley from 6 to 11 p.m. on Aug. 6 at Hollywood Gaming Mahoning Valley Race Course, 655 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Tickets for the event include dinner, wine and a raffle. There will be a wine pull, silent auction and live auction. Entertainment will be provided by Steve Fazzini. For tickets and information, visit meritageofmiracles.com.

Meritage of Miracles is a nonprofit organization which supports Akron Children’s Hospital. Children with chronic, complex or life-threatening illnesses who are in need of palliative care must travel to Akron, since there is no palliative care unit at Akron Children’s in Boardman.

All proceeds from the event will go to Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley to establish a palliative care unit.
