Columbiana County man gets 4-year prison term

YOUNGSTOWN — A Columbiana County man was sentenced in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court today to four years in prison today for a February burglary in Beaver Township.

The sentence handed down to Jason Heffner, 36, of Madison Township, by Judge Shirley J. Christian will run concurrent to an expected 10-year sentence he will receive next week in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court for a string of burglaries in that county.

Heffner also awaits sentencing in Tuscawaras County for burglaries there.

Heffner said he was in the throes of a heroin addiction when he committed his crimes. He is also the father of six children with five different women.
